The Woodberry Down estate comprises 57 blocks of flats that were built between 1949 and 1962, making it one of the largest estates undergoing regeneration in Europe. Interestingly, the land was originally compulsorily purchased in 1934 so it is undergoing the same procedure for a second time. The current regeneration scheme began in 2007.
It is located within the London Borough of Hackney and is within walking distance to Manor Park Underground Station. The estate sits adjacent to the very attractive Woodberry Wetlands which contains 2 large reservoirs.
Our involvement began in 2017 with the regeneration midway through its third phase. We are representing a large number of leaseholders in helping to secure a fair Market Value and related compensation. Given that Disturbance compensation is to be reserved, we are also advising clients solicitors of the correct clauses for a sale contract, to protect our clients position for a future claim.
