The Teviot estate was built by Poplar Borough Council circa 1955 and is named after the River Teviot in the Cheviot Hills of Scotland. The estate is located in Poplar which is a district in East London, and part of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The estate borders the Limehouse Cut canal to the North, the River Lea to the East and Langdon Park and Balfron Tower to the South.
In May 2019 residents voted in favour of regenerating the Teviot Estate. The acquiring authority on the scheme is Poplar Harca Housing Association and Hill are the developer. BPTW Architects are appointed as the master planner for the estate.
