Grahame Park delays

Delays at the Grahame Park Estate

In December 2017, Mayor London Sadiq Khan directed London Borough of Barnet to refuse a Planning Application submitted by Genesis Housing Association for the redevelopment of the Grahame Park Estate. The direction was due to an unacceptable loss of social housing of 257 units.

Discussions ensued between Genesis and the Mayors Office with attempts to re-provide the properties elsewhere but these were rejected. As such, Genesis are currently going through a re-design of their regeneration ambitions. This has been further complicated by a merger by Genesis Housing Association and Notting Hill Housing Association. The newly formed company is called Notting Hill Genesis.

We understand that the regeneration programme is likely to continue but with delays of about a year. Redevelopment is also now being restricted to the Concourse area, where many of our 100 clients on the estate live. If areas outside the concourse are affected in later months or years, we shall of course inform all of our clients in those areas.

For our clients where agreement on sale terms had already been reached, these are proceeding. Where agreement had not been reached, discussions have been put on hold. We hope that discussions will recommence late summer 2018 but the position is far from certain.

Any leaseholders on the estate who have questions can contact us on 020 3011 5300 and ask for Jonathan Nesbitt. All of our clients have been informed.
